 It's a New Dawn...

                          It's a New Day...

                                                It's a New Life...

Welcome to the Michigan Bariatric Institute Support Group Homepage

You never need to feel alone in your surgical journey. We are here to help you in anyway we can.  This is an informal, fun and educational site for patients who have undergone bariatric surgery, their family and friends.

Prior to surgery, we find ourselves excited and willing to learn anything and everything about bariatric surgery!  After surgery, when we are actually living this new lifestyle, it is crucial to continue learning.  This support group forum provides the best place and the best teachers (each other!) for this to happen.

The Michigan Bariatric Institute (MBI) offers a multi-disciplinary team approach to weight loss surgery. Our team includes our medical director, registered dietitians, registered nurses, behavioral specialists, exercise physiologists, anesthesiologists, specially trained OR staff, insurance specialists and client service representatives. This team is committed to assisting our patients through every aspect of your surgical process. From educational seminars to pre-surgical classes to support groups, we partner with each patient to ensure a smooth transition through each phase of the process as well as enjoying expected weight loss outcomes.

ObesityHelp.com

Have you had a chance to check out Obesity Help online?  It's an excellent source for information and support, but also a chance to toot your horn and lend out your own "bariatric expertise" to others that are looking for some direction.  So, log on and take a look at what they have to offer.  While you're at it, take a look at the MBI surgeons' profiles and see if you can add any information that may be helpful to others.  Like which insurance do you have, what you thought about Dr. Zeni or Dr. Roberts.  Any information you provide is helpful.
